Gmina Adamów położona jest w północno-zachodniej części województwa lubelskiego w powiecie łukowskim, w dorzeczu Wieprza nad dwoma niewielkimi rzekami; Motwicą (zwaną Grabówką) i Czarną. Obejmuje obszar 9889 ha, który zamieszkuje niespełna 6 tys. osób. Gmina Adamów jest to typowa gmina rolnicza, w której podstawowym źródłem zarobkowania mieszkańców jest praca w indywidualnych gospodarstwach rolnych. Gmina posiada również pozarolniczy rynek pracy, co korzystnie wpływa na jej rozwój. Na terenie gminy występują duże kompleksy leśne. Stwarza to optymalne warunki egzystencji wielu gatunkom zwierząt i ptaków zwłaszcza w lesie gułowskim. Doliny rzek Grabówki i Czarnej oraz stawy adamowskie pozostają ważnym, pod względem przyrodniczym, obszarem wzbogacającym krajobraz gminy. Czysty ekologicznie obszar sprawia, że rozwinęła się tutaj produkcja owoców. Teren gminy przecinają licznie oznakowane szlaki: Szlak Sienkiewiczowski biegnący na trasie Łuków - Okrzeja, Szlak Kleeberga z Dęblina przez Wolę Gułowską do Kocka, rowerowy Szlak Ziemi Łukowskiej z czterema odnogami prowadzącymi do ciekawszych miejsc w gminie oraz ponad 50 km szlaków do biegania, spacerowania, nordic walking, wyznaczonych w lesie gułowskim.
Na terenie gminy Adamów znajduje się kilka obiektów wpisanych do rejestru zabytków. Są to: kościół parafii pw. Podwyższenia Krzyża św. w Adamowie budowany w latach 1796-1858, dzwonnica murowana w Adamowie z połowy XIX wieku, Zespół Klasztorny Karmelitów Trzewiczkowych w Woli Gułowskiej oraz drewniany kościół w Zakępiu. Bardzo ważnym w regionie obiektem kultu, ale również atrakcją turystyczną jest sanktuarium maryjne w Woli Gułowskiej ze znajdującym się tam cudownym obrazem Matki Bożej Gułowskiej Patronki Żołnierzy Września. Budowla ta wzniesiona w stylu barokowym, której początki datuje się na rok 1633, jest miejscem licznych pielgrzymek. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje także Dom Kultury - Pomnik Czynu Bojowego Kleeberczyków w Woli Gułowskiej. Tutaj swoją siedzibę ma multimedialne muzeum poświęcone SGO „Polesie” dowodzonej przez generała Franciszka Kleeberga i ostatniej regularnej bitwie wojny obronnej 1939 r., która rozegrała się na terenie gminy Adamów. Zastosowane rozwiązania multimedialne stanowią oprawę dla pamiątek i eksponatów po bohaterach bitwy. Udostępniane zwiedzającym zbiory są niezwykle bogate i różnorodne. W zasobach znajduje się ponad 1400 unikatowych eksponatów. Zaproponowana różnorodność przestrzeni, atmosfery działa na różne zmysły odbiorcy i wprowadza go w świat kampanii wrześniowej. W Domu Kultury znajduje się również m.in. galeria rzeźby ludowej, izba regionalna oraz sala myśliwska.
W Adamowie powstaje jedna z najnowocześniejszych bibliotek w regionie. Jej budowa i wyposażenie odbywa się według określonych standardów, które pozwolą uzyskać Certyfikat Biblioteki+. Biblioteka stanie się instytucją nie tylko oferującą dostęp do książki, ale także ośrodkiem życia społecznego - miejscem spotkań, warsztatów, debat i wystaw.

The Adamów Commune is situated in the northwestern part of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in the Łuków District, within the basin of the Wieprz river on two small rivers: Motwica (called Grabówka) and Czarna. It encompasses an area of 9,889 hectares and has a population of less than 6 thousand. The Adamów Commune is a typical agricultural commune in which working on private farms is the primary source of income for its residents. The commune has also nonagricultural labour market, which is beneficial for its development. There are large forest complexes in the commune. This creates optimal living conditions for many species of animals and birds especially in the Gułowski Forest. The Grabówka and Czarna river valleys and the ponds of Adamów remain an important natural area enriching the landscape of the commune. The ecologically clean land is ideal for fruit growing. There are numerous marked hiking trails in the commune: Sienkiewicz Trail on the Łuków - Okrzeja route, Kleeberg's Trail from Dęblin through Wola Gułowska up to Kock, a cycling route of the Łuków Land with four branches leading to interesting sites in the commune and over 50 km of marked running, hiking and Nordic Walking trails in the Gułowski Forest.
There are a few buildings listed in the register of monuments in the Adamów Commune. These are: Exaltation of the Holy Cross parish church in Adamów, built in the years 1796-1858, a bricked belfry in Adamów from the midnineteenth century, Carmelite monastery complex in Wola Gułowska and a wooden church in Zakępie. A very important monument of worship, but also a tourist attraction is the Marian shrine in Wola Gułowska with the miraculous painting of Gułowska Virgin Mary, Patron of The September Soldiers. This building was built in the Baroque style and its origins date back to the year 1633, it is a place of pilgrimages. The Community Centre is also worth attention here - Monument to the Combat Act of the Kleeberczyk's Soldiers in Wola Gułowska. A multimedia museum dedicated to the Independent Operational Group Polesie, commanded by General Franciszek Kleeberg and the last regular battle of the defensive war of 1939 which took place in the Adamów Commune. The applied multimedia solutions constitute the setting for memorabilia and exhibits commemorating the heroes of the battle. The presented collection is extremely rich and varied. There are over 1,400 unique exhibils in the collection.
The shown variety of space and atmosphere is sensuous for a visitor and introduces the world of the September campaign. The Community Centre also houses a gallery of folk sculpture, regional Chamber and a hunter’s room.
One of the most modern libraries in the region is being created in Adamów. Its construction and furnishing take place in accordance with specific standards that will allow obtaining the Library Certificate+. The library will become an institution offering not only access to books, but also it will be a centre for social life - a place of meetings, workshops, debates and exhibitions.
